Milton Charity Poker Run
Run It Once Poker has announced that it will host a three-handed, bracketed charity tournament featuring 27 poker pros and amateurs. All the action will be streamed on Twitch on Saturday, December 19. The tournament, which will function similarly to a heads-up MTT bracket but three-handed, will use the operator’s new SNG Select tournaments. The 10th Annual Charity Poker Run took place in Milton and was as well attended as ever! Riders met at Halton Auto Service & Transmission on Ontario Street and took to the streets to enjoy an amazing day on their bike, all in support of the Milton District Hospital Foundation (MDHF). Riders ended the day at the Halton Sportsmen.
2020 Charity Recipients
ALL proceeds from this event will be donated to our partner charities, Make-A-Wish and the River Community Wellness Program.
Make-A-Wish
Granting wishes to kids with life-threatening medical conditions gives them more than an amazing experience. A wish come true has the power to make kids feel stronger, more courageous, and more determined to overcome their illnesses. Many families and healthcare providers believe the wish experience is the turning point in a wish kid’s battle against their illness. Your gift today can help Make-A-Wish® achieve our mission to grant the wish of every eligible child. Grant a wish and help change a child’s life.
River Community Wellness Program
River Community Wellness Program at River Hospital provides Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment to America’s heroes, past and present. Active Duty military members diagnosed with PTSD are treated in the Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP). Veterans diagnosed with PTSD are provided services in an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP). Both the PHP and IOP are group focused programs drawing on the strength created when a group of like-minded individuals join together in the healing process. Groups are dynamic and focus on education that covers a wide range of therapeutic strategies. Participants receive the benefit of treatment by expert staff that genuinely cares about their well-being. The program keeps our military members and Veterans close to home while they are healing and learning to cope. With no other civilian run PHP like this in the country, River Hospital has accepted the challenge and responsibility to offer this intensive level of treatment to our Soldiers.
