What do you do when you’re feeling lucky and you have a little extra green to use as expendable funds? You could go to Vegas and blow it all, or, if it’s August, you could come to Fort Walton Beach for the Emerald Coast Poker Run, where even if your luck fails you, you’ll still feel good knowing your funds went to a good cause! Proceeds from this exciting event will go to children’s charities in Northwest Florida; over 2.5 million dollars has been raised over the past years and they are excited to see how much more than can raise in 2019!

Emerald Coast Poker Run – Save the Date

Saturday, August 11 is the big day, but since the Poker Run is the climax of the ultra-sensational Boat Week, you should probably plan on arriving by August 7th at the absolute latest to ensure you don’t miss a single event! Boat Week kicks off with a Blues, Brews, and BBQ party at AJ’s on the Bayou on August 8th and the fun takes off from there! Featuring bikini contests, a Captain’s Party that will Rock the Docks, two poker runs, and a poker party, your extended weekend in Fort Walton Beach promises to be a party you will never forget!

The first Emerald Coast Poker Run starts on Friday and runs from the Legendary Marina to Orange Beach (or the other way around!). At each stop, (there are five on this day, spread out so you can open up your boats and see how she does in the big waters!) boaters will receive a card to be used in the poker game. On Saturday, August 11, the Big One starts at the Baytowne Marina and 11 stops later ends at Adventure Marina, right here in Fort Walton Beach! Then, the fun really begins! That night, starting at 6 PM, the Emerald Coast Convention Center sponsors a silent auction, poker, and blackjack, in addition to an all-you-can-eat buffet and open bar! The food and drink end at 9:30, but if you purchased VIP tickets, the bar stays open later. Costing $295 per person (VIP adds another $200) for entry into two of the big events, participants can purchase extra tickets if they want to get into everything for another $100, extending the good times even further!
