Adelaide Casino Poker Zone

With the 2012 Aussie Millions run and won, the schedule for the rest of the year is starting to take shape. First up is the new Poker Zone Cup, which will be played at Adelaide Casino from February 13-18.

Adelaide is still regarded by many as the ‘Traditional Home of Australian Poker’. Playing at The District Poker The District Poker is located on the north western corner of level 1 @ The District. The District Poker offers two ways of playing poker – tournaments and ‘cash’ or ‘ring’ games. The Adelaide Casino is the only casino in South Australia. Much to South Australian poker players' delight, it has a poker room, which they call The Poker Zone. It's a small poker room, but it's amongst one of the best poker rooms in Australia.

Despite losing its status as the opening event of the ANZPT, Adelaide Casino quickly moved to establish a new tournament series to maintain its ownership of the space immediately after the Aussie Millions.

Starting on Monday (February 6) is the Poker Zone Cup Satellite Week, offering several opportunities for players to fine-tune their skills and earn seats into the Main Event for a fraction of the full buy-in.

The Poker Zone Cup schedule kicks-off with a $235 No Limit Hold’em Teams Event followed by the unique $450 Michael Sellars NLHE Triple Chance event. Not only will the winner earn naming rights for this event when it is next played, there is a $1000 bounty on the scalp of Michael Sellars.

The $1100 buy-in Main Event kicks-off on Wednesday, February 15, with the first of two day-one flights before the champion is decided on Saturday, February 18.
